the
world on
1964. It
was “a
dream
come
true” –
the
dream of
the
Blessed
Mother
Mariam
Thresia,
the
visionary
pioneer
in the
field of
Family
Apostolate.
The
founding
of the
College
by the
Congregation
of the
Holy
Family
was an
answer
to the
increasing
demands
for
higher
education
among
young
girls in
and
around
Irinjalakuda,
the hub
of
cultural
activities,
in
Central
Kerala.
Today,
the
institution
has
soared
to
envious
heights
of
eminence,
and has
been
reaccredited
by the
National
Assessment
and
Accreditation
Council
(NAAC)
at B++
grade.
The roots of St.Joseph's College lie deep in the vision of Blessed Mother Mariam Thresia, the foundress of the Congregation of the Holy Family. She was born in the Chiramel Mankidiyan family in Puthenchira, Kerala, on 26th April 1876. Her whole life had been a beautiful and powerful

Kuriakose, the,
Principal
of the
College
since
April
2007 was
a Reader
in the
Department
of
Physics
and the
IQAC Co-ordinator
before
she took
up the
present
assignment. She
joined
the
Department
in
December
1984 and
did her M.Phil
and Ph.D
as UGC
Teacher
fellow
in
Madras
and Anna
Universities
respectively. A
researcher
of
global
band-width.
She has
nine
international
papers
and a UGC
project
to her
credit.
