Department of Chemistry

PROFILE

The department of chemistry started functioning with the very inception of the college and has the history of 50 years so far. It began teaching Chemistry classes for Pre-Degree course, and within a couple of years it becomes a full-fledged Department with a degree course. With the introduction of PG in 1995 and Research centre in 2010, it grew into the biggest department of the college. The department provides a scholastic atmosphere through competent instruction, curricular and extra- curricular activities. The academic atmosphere in the department is a rare blend of modern day technical skills and traditional emphasis on imparting knowledge. Many of the post graduate students qualify the UGC-CSIR-JRF and GATE examinations every year.

VISION

A world where women are of scientific sprit and human values.

MISSION

To mould devoted and globally competent teachers and scientists in the field of Chemistry in order to make them fit for productive and responsible participation in society.
