MISSION:-

* Formulate and implement a programmed action to improve academic and administrative quality

* Facilitate timely ICT upgradation for a learner centric environment
* Co-ordinate Teaching, Research, Extension & Consultancy activities
* Spear head the feedback mechanism on the institutional processes
* Assimilate and document the various programmes and activities organized in the institution.

 

IQAC functions as a mandatory body in an institution as directed by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council of the U.G.C. The objective of this forum is to ensure sustenance and enhancement of quality in the educational offering. The present composition of the IQAC of the college is as follows: It includes a 21-Member Committee to launch, execute and monitor quality initiatives, with the Principal as Chairperson, a senior faculty as Co-ordinator, five other members of faculty, one Grade 1 Librarian, two administrative staff, two management representatives, two student representatives, two alumnae representatives and five members external to the institution.

 

Quality Sustenance & Enhancement Initiatives of the IQAC is as follows:-

  • Organize training and orientation to teachers to be acclimatized with the new ICT supported learner-centred interactive instruction and e-content development
  • At the beginning of the academic year, convene the entire faculty to devise strategies to develop schemes of action that give students opportunities to achieve the stated objectives of the programmes
  • Invite annual month-wise teaching plans for the syllabus from the departments and the teachers
  • Co-ordinate the planned non-academic programmes for the preparation of the academic calendar
  • Prepare Teacher’s Mirror, a performance self-appraisal form for the faculty to be submitted at the end of every academic year
  • Conduct a SWOT analysis of the departments
  • Co-ordinate PET(Post Entrance Test) to assess the skill and knowledge of students soon after the admission stage
  • Organize a Bridge Course as an immersion module for the new entrants
  • Co-ordinate departmental and interdepartmental seminars, conferences, workshops etc
  • Deploy faculty to participate in NAAC/UGC conducted seminars in other institutions
  • Arrange invited talks on quality enhancement
  • Conduct competitions for students on LCD presentations of topics promoting quality
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching-learning through internal academic audit
  • Ensure the role of Alumnae in promoting quality
  • Facilitate on-line communication with the departments
  • Disseminate information by convening periodic meetings with the Heads of all Departments
  • Prepare the AQAR
  • Prepare the SSR and facilitate assessment and accreditation by NAAC
  • Bring forth a monthly news letter ‘Quality Quest’ that focuses on a key issue and encapsulates the major events covered as well as anticipated
  • Organize coaching for NET, Civil Service Examinations and Bank Tests; encourage placements for jobs through the HRD Cell
  • Instigate faculty to present papers in and attend seminars and conferences both within and outside the country
  • Encourage faculty to function as resource persons on academic and non-academic subjects
  • Co-ordinate submission of major and minor project applications to various agencies
  • Facilitate proceedings and procedures for the upgradation of departments as research departments
