Research Department of Commerce organised industrial visit of M.Com students to Kinfra Koratty

Department of commerce organised an industrial visit for M.Com students , 2021-23 batch to Manko Natural flavours and Extracts, Kinfra Koratty, Industrial Area Phase-1. The industrial visit was held on 15th June 2022. 28 students accompanied by three teachers set off for the journey. Students and faculty started their journey from the campus with a silent prayer around 9:30 a.m. and reached there by around 10:30 a.m.

The students were eagerly waiting for industrial visit. Manko Natural Flavours and Extract is a Private Limited Company established in 1995 and having a turnover of more than 90 crores per year. It is an export oriented unit engaged in manufacturing and exporting of essential oils, oleoresins, natural food colours from a wide variety of spices, herbs and aromatic plants utilising with modern technology and total quality management controlled by experienced and qualified technologist, scientists and managers with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction in all respects, conforming to ISO, EOA and FCC specifications as well as in accordance with the requirements of individual buyers. Manko Natural Flavours and Extracts Pvt Ltd is an export based company and the customers are mainly foreigners. 92% to 95 % of the products are exported. Only 5 % are Indian customers, they are mainly pharmaceutical company. Vision of the company to become more preferred Indian exporters of natural flavours and extract .The mission of the company is to ensure continual improvement in the business through Technology up gradation and standardization of product and process with international accredited standards.

The company ensure the safe working of man and machinery in the plant and also ensures the working men/ women are wearing the personal protective equipment and dresses in accordance to avoid fire hazards and personal injury The company pays close attention to the packing of spice oils and oleoresin and only international quality packing materials of great strength and durability are used. The manager explained the procedure or steps of production or direction to produce the final product. The students were taken to the production centre and explain each stage in detail. The industrial visit gives a lot of information about various aspects of production, marketing as well as the operation of the company. The samples of final products like turmeric oleoresin, turmeric powder, and turmeric oil as well as some by-products were shown to the students.
