Research Department of Commerce organized industrial visit by Third year B Com students to Modern Breads Edapally.
A batch of 5th semester students of Research Department of Commerce along with faculty members, Ms.Sherline T I, and Ms. Jitha Thomas visited Modern Bread Industry at Edapally in Ernakulum with an objective to provide the students an insight regarding the internal working environment of the company. Industrial visit was mainly focused on understanding the procedures involved during bread production , the technology and the equipment used in that process.
Faculty and students reached there by 10:10. Students were introduced to the working of food factory by explaining the cleanliness to be maintained while entering food processing units. Students were divided into 2 batches each batch consisting of 27 students. There was a pleasant aroma throughout our journey in the factory. Students witnessed the high speed flour mixers and moulds along with high temperature bread baking ovens. Students keenly observed and learnt the procedures to maintain quality and packaging of breads. Production Manager of that company explained about the process involved in bread making which consist of the process of mixing, fermentation, dividing, final prover, baking, cooling, metal detecting, slicing, packing, labeling and storing. The industry manufactures 17 varieties of bread in which 5 of them are made of wheat.
