A certificate course in German language was offered by the department in 2020-21. This was offered keeping in mind the increase in the number of students going abroad for higher studies as well as for career growth. Due to the restrictions imposed by covid , the classes were conducted online.

Certificate course in Communicative English 2016-17
A certificate course in Communicative English was offered by the department to empower the learners to communicate, express themselves and perform different functions in varied situations in English language . The emphasis throughout the course is to make learning a self motivated activity where performing tasks in pairs or groups establishes a collaborative learning process in which the learner performs a unique blend of communicative activities and develops the four skills –listening , speaking, reading and writing skills of the language. The course syllabus was divided into two modules with four and six units each with added focus on training students for actual language use in different life situations. The course was attended by first year UG students of the college. Classes were handled by the faculty members of the department. At the end of the course, students were subjected to oral and written examinations to assess their knowledge and qualified students were awarded certificates
