AWARENESS OF THE ELIMINATION OF SINGLE-USE PLASTICS
REPORT
Single-use plastics are one of the most prevalent causes of pollution including
environmental as well as water pollution. We produce millions of tons of single -
use plastics ever. These single-use plastics are used only once and then thrown
away as garbage for recycling. It has a devastating impact on oceans, the sea, animals, and hydrophytes. Therefore the elimination of single-use plastics is very important. Honorable prime minister, Shri Narendra Modi gave a Clarion call to phase out single-use plastics by 2022, and the Government has taken effective measures to manage plastic waste.
Observing the initiative, the NCC cadets of St.Joseph’s College (Autonomous)
Irinjalakuda made paper bags and distributed them to shops on 9 th July. Cadets
recorded the event and made videos and posters and uploaded to social media.
