COMMUNITY EXTENSION ACTIVITY-2022 ( Academic )

Community Extension Work Community Extension Work of 1st year MSc Psychology students of 2021-22 batch of St. Joseph’s college was conducted in CKM NSS School Chalakudy on 14th January 2022, Friday at 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm. Major Aim of this program is to give awareness to children about consequences of mobile use termed as mobile addiction and violent behaviors shown by teenagers with influence of violent shows termed as media violence. Children can identify these, either can control themselves or can take professional help if needed. Extension work was conducted in a form of an awareness class titled “NOMOPHOBIA- Dark Side of Mobile phones and Media”. The class was delivered to 11th-grade students of CKM NSS school, Chalakudy.

Major Terminologies:


    Nomophobia – Psychological condition of fear of being detached from the phone.

     Addiction- treatable, chronic medical condition, characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli despite adverse consequences.

     Media violence – visual portrayals of acts of physical aggression by one human or human-like character against other.
