Regional film festival

The department of Journalism and Mass Communication conducted a regional film festival from March 2-6 2018. The regional Film Festival was a film festival held in department’s Lab. This film festival started in March 2 and is hosted by the journalism department on behalf of St Josephs College, Irinjalakuda. The festival was planned to conduct every year and is acknowledged as one of the leading cultural events in college. Competition section is limited to 14 selected films produced outside college. The festival also has a section devoted to Malayalam cinema. Contemporary World Cinema, New Malayalam Cinema, Retrospectives of Major filmmakers, Homage and Tributes, Contemporary Indian Cinema, Short films and Documentaries are screened during the film festival. Film Market and Seminars on important issues concerning Cinema are also scheduled during the festival.
