The "Let's Cook Delicious" cooking contest, organized by KPL Oil Mills in association with Costume and Fashion Designing at St. Joseph's College Autonomous, Irinjalakuda, was a culinary extravaganza that brought together a blend of traditional flavors and creative cooking. The event commenced with a solemn prayer, setting a harmonious tone for the culinary competition.

The "Let's Cook Delicious" cooking contest, organized by KPL Oil Mills in association with Costume and Fashion Designing at St. Joseph's College Autonomous, Irinjalakuda, was a culinary extravaganza that brought together a blend of traditional flavors and creative cooking. The event commenced with a solemn prayer, setting a harmonious tone for the culinary competition.
The highlight of the contest was the challenge presented to the participants: crafting the authentic and flavorful "Velichennayil Thirummiya Nadan Chicken Curry." This distinctive dish added an element of cultural richness, encouraging contestants to explore the nuances of traditional Kerala cuisine. Participants, armed with their culinary prowess and creativity, were granted a two-hour window to meticulously prepare and present their interpretations of this traditional delicacy. The kitchens buzzed with activity as contestants chopped, sautéed, and infused their unique twists into the classic recipe.
Once the time elapsed, the stage shifted from bustling kitchens to the anticipation-filled judging area. A panel of esteemed judges, experts in the culinary domain, meticulously evaluated each dish based on taste, presentation, and adherence to the traditional recipe. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the participants eagerly awaited the verdict.
The collaboration with Costume and Fashion Designing added an aesthetic dimension to the event, as participants not only showcased their culinary skills but also paid attention to the visual appeal of their presentations.
The official function begin after completion of the judments. Ms. Sreeranjini Sagar set the tone for the event, welcoming participants and attendees to the "Let's Cook Delicious" cooking contest with enthusiasm and grace. Mr. Jose John, the Managing Director of KPL Oil Mills, delivered a compelling presidential address, emphasizing the significance of culinary arts and the usage of coconut oil into our dishes and also expressed gratitude for the collaboration with the Department of Costume and Fashion Designing.
Dr. Sr. Blessy, the Principal of St. Joseph’s College, provided an insightful inaugural address, highlighting the importance of such events in fostering creativity and teamwork among students. Mr. Pios, the Executive Director of KPL Oil Mills, shared a key note address, shedding light on the company's commitment to promoting culinary arts and healthy cooking practices.Mr. Aneesh Karim, the Station House Officer, delivered a motivational speech, inspiring participants with words of encouragement and emphasizing the value of perseverance in culinary pursuits.
Mr. Aneesh Karim had the honor of distributing prizes, recognizing and rewarding the exceptional culinary skills displayed by the participants. The Manasa and team from department of mathematics won first prize,  Anjana Theresa and team and Irene Thomas and team won Second and third prize respectively.
Mr. Vijayakrishnan K M, Sales Manager at KPL Oil Mills, along with Mr. Mohandas (Regional Sales Manager) and Dr. Binu T V (IQAC Coordinator), felicitated the winners and acknowledged their culinary achievements.
Ms. Aswathy concluded the event with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all contributors, sponsors, and participants for making "Let's Cook Delicious" a memorable and successful cooking contest.
