As a part of academic activity, the  Postgraduate and Research Department of Mathematics, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda organized a two day ‘NET-JRF Orientation Program in Mathematical Science’ on 21st and 22nd May 2021 from 10.00 AM to 11.30 AM through Google Meet platform. The Resource Person was Ms. Jiya Rose Johnson, Research Scholar at IIT Madras and also an alumna of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda.

The program was held in two sessions and there were more than 60 participants from various Universities. On the first day, the program started with the welcome speech by Ms Dhanya V.S,  Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics. Then Ms Jiya Rose Johnson started the first session of NET-JRF orientation program in Mathematical Science. This session mainly focused on giving a brief introduction about CSIR NET, UGC NET exam pattern and discussed deeply on the syllabus for the NET exam. Then the session was concluded with the vote of thanks by Anisha Babu, 1st PG Mathematics student.

On the second day, the session was continued with the syllabus for the NET exam and also gave a nice talk on planning and preparations that is required to crack the exam. Throughout the session she shared her personal experience about the preparations and clearing of the CSIR NET/JRF exam, which was really inspiring. After that, there was an interactive session to clear the doubts. At last, the program ended up with the vote of thanks by Naja V, 1st PG Mathematics student.
