Vijay Diwas or Victory Day is commemorated on December 16, marking the end of the 1971 Indo-pak War and the liberation of Bangladesh. India declared victory on this day 51 years ago after Pakistan signed the instrument of surrender. On this day, India pays homage to all the soldiers who defended the nation. The chief of the Pakistani forces, General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi surrendered to the joined forces of Indian Army and Bangladesh's Mukti Bahini, along with 93,000 pakistani troops.
The NCC unit of St Joseph's (Autonomous) College, Irinjalakuda celebrated the Vijay Diwas to remember the victory of India and sacrifice of Indian soldiers. A poster was made in tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives fighting for India and posted it on the social media.
