PG Admission Rules

Note: The eligibility for admission is subject to change according to the university rules and regulations


Eligibility: Under Mark System:- BA English Lang. & Litt./BA English & History/BA Functional English with at least 45% marks for English Main Papers or BA/BSc (excluding alternative pattern) Degree with at least 45% marks in Part I English, of this University or equivalent degree. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

Under Grade System:- BA English Lang. & Litt./BA English & History/BA Functional English/ or BA/BSc (excluding alternative pattern) Degree with English as Common Course of this University or equivalent degree with Overall CGPA, at least equivalent to 50%. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

For Non-English degree holders applying for M A English, admission will be based on an Entrance Test. Minimum marks for qualifying entrance examination - 50% for General Candidates; 45% for OBC/OEC Candidates; 40% for SC/ST Candidates.

Eligibility: BA Malayalam Lang. & Literature (Main/core) Degree with at least 45% marks for Part III or Any degree (BA/B Sc (excluding alternative pattern)) with Malayalam as a common course with 45% marks of this University or equivalent degree.

For candidates under the grading system, overall CGPA is at least equivalent to 50%.

Eligibility: Under Mark System:- BSc Degree of this University with Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry (Main) or equivalent degree with Mathematics as one of its subsidiaries with at least 50% marks. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

Under Grade System:- B.Sc. Degree of this University with Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry (Core) with Mathematics as one of its subsidiaries or equivalent degree with Overall CGPA, at least equivalent to 50%. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

Eligibility: B.Sc. Degree in Mathematics or an equivalent degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in Core and at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in Part III (Core and Complementary put together). In the case of those students having a B.Sc. degree or B.Sc. honours degree equivalent to the B.Sc. Mathematics Degree of the Calicut University without complementary papers need only to secure at least 50 % marks in the core and electives put together (if there is/are any elective paper/papers). OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

Eligibility: Any candidate who has passed B.Com or BBA (earlier BBS) degree of University of Calicut or B.Com, BBA, BBM or BBS degree of any other University or Institutes in any states recognized by UGC or AICTE with a minimum of 45% marks or equivalent grade is eligible for admission. OBC and SC/ST students are eligible for mark/grade relaxation as per the University rules. In the case of B.Com (Honours) and B.Com (Professional) students, the minimum eligibility for admission is 50% for all categories of students.

Eligibility: Under Mark System:- BA Degree of this University with Economics/Foreign Trade/Development Economics (Main) or equivalent degree with at least 45% marks for Part III (excluding subsidiaries).OR B.Sc. Degree of this University with Statistics/Mathematics (Main) or equivalent degree with at least 70% marks for Part III (excluding subsidiaries). OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

Under Grade System:- BA Degree of this University with Economics/Foreign Trade/Development Economics (Main) or equivalent degree with Overall CGPA, at least equivalent to 50%, or B.Sc Degree of this University with Statistics/Mathematics (Main) or equivalent degree with equivalent grade to 70 %. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

Eligibility: Bachelor's degree in Botany or Plant Science of the University of Calicut or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 50% marks in the main (core) subject under the marking system or equivalent grade under the grading system, with 45% marks or equivalent grade in the case of OBC/OEC candidates and with a pass in the case of SC/ST candidates.

Eligibility: B.Sc. Degree of this University or equivalent/ recognised degree with Zoology (Main) with (at least) 50% marks or equivalent grade in Core (Part III excluding subsidiaries). OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.?

Eligibility: B.Sc. Degree in Physics/Applied Physics (Core) of this University or an equivalent degree, with Mathematics as compulsory complementary, having 50% mark or equivalent grade in Part III (Core and Complementary put together) or B.Sc. Physics Honours degree with 50% marks or equivalent grade in Physics core and electives put together. In the case of applicants with triple main/three majors, they should have Physics and Mathematics as two mains/majors and should have a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade, while putting the three mains/majors together. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

Eligibility: B.Sc. with Psychology as the core (main) subject in Part III of graduation, from the University of Calicut, in regular mode. Those candidates who opted for Psychology as their main subject, studied in regular mode and passed from other institutions, and carry a recognized/equivalent degree, can also apply.

Eligibility: Bachelor's degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Botany, Zoology, Life Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science or 4-years Agricultural, Veterinary, Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/ Technology (Biotech), B.Sc (Physician Assistant Course); OR Medicine (MBBS) OR B.D.S with at least 55% marks or any other equivalent degree approved by the University.?

Eligibility: The candidate should have secured at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade in BSc. (Computer Science or Information Technology or Electronics or Physics or Mathematics or Statistics or Chemistry) or BCA/ B.Voc in Software Technology/ B.Voc in Software Development of this University or an equivalent degree OR at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade in B.Tech/BE (Computer Science or Information Technology or Electronics or Electronics and Telecommunication or Electronics and Communication) recognized by this University. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

Eligibility: Candidates who have passed a Bachelor's Degree course of this University or any other University recognized by this University as equivalent thereto and have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade are eligible to apply. Professional graduates will be considered for admission provided they secure a minimum of the first class (60%) in overall subjects.

Entrance Examination marks only.

Eligibility: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline recognised by the University of Calicut with a minimum of 50% marks. Bachelor's Degree includes other four-year degree programmes like LLB, B.Tech also.

70% marks of Entrance Examination.

15% marks for the Interview.

15% marks for Group Discussion.

Eligibility: Candidates who have passed a Bachelor's Degree course of this university or any other University recognized by this University as equivalent thereto with mathematics or statistics as a Core or Complimentary subject and have secured a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade or BCA with mathematics up to plus two are eligible to apply.

Entrance Examination marks only.
