REPORT

The RDC Inter battalion Cultural Selection Event of Ernakulum group was held at
St Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda on 21st August 2023 with the
gracious presence of CO Lt. Col Bijoy B, 7K Girls Battalion NCC and AO Lt Col
Prakash V V, 23 K Battalion. The event aimed to identify and select cadets to
participate in various cultural events, fostering a sense of teamwork, talent
recognition, and overall camaraderie for the RDC 2024. The selection process
comprised a series of auditions and evaluations, showcasing the diverse talents
possessed by the cadets. Cadets showcased their dancing skills through a variety of
styles, including classical, contemporary, folk, and hip-hop. The performances
demonstrated both individual talent and group coordination. The music segment
included vocal and instrumental performances, allowing cadets to exhibit their
singing and musical abilities. A range of genres, from traditional to contemporary,
was covered. Cadets also performed other art forms such as kalaripayattu, Karate,
Yoga, etc. The Commanding Officer’s presence added to the event’s prestige and
served as a source of motivation for the cadets. After careful consideration and
deliberation, a select number of cadets were chosen. The cadets of St Joseph’s
College actively took part in the volunteering activities.
