OTA ATTACHMENT CAMP AT CHENNAI

REPORT

LCPL Hrisha Saju, cadet of St. Joseph’s (autonomous )college
Irinjalakuda successfully completed OTA attachment training camp
conducted by Officers Training Academy Chennai from 5th October to
14th October .100 NCC cadets from different parts of the country
participated in this camp. On 6th October camp started by visiting PHill
Birds view point and opening address held at Chanakya Hall. After
opening ceremony cadets started OTA Dharsan. Cadets visited Indication
of landmark, Yodha Cadets mess, Weapon display area, Obstacle training
area, Physical training area, Weapon training area, Tactical continuing
area,Jasbir lake, Equestrian line etc. Throughout the camp cadets got great opportunities such as indication of landmark and target, Armoured-
artillery-infantry aspects in Indian army, Map reading and accessories,Equestrian line, air Pistol and air rifle, stimulator firing in weapons like
INSAS and AK-47. Cadets were trained by OTA PT Staffs With morning
PT ,Yoga, Obstacle training area visit and games .WT Staff done classes
about INSAS and new generation weapons like NAGAV,SIG-1 and displayed 10 weapons such as INSAS,AK-47,RL,NAGAV,SIG-1 etc. Also given a demo session at Firing Range of OTA with 4 details. Cadets visited the St. Thomas Mount which is
historically well known and also visited St. Thomas Fort Museum and
Marina Beach during the camp day. DDG of NCC Tamilnadu
Commodore Athul Kumar Rastogi,Capt.Raveena,Lt.Col.Hemanth
Juneha,Capt.Mohit Goutham gives lecture sessions in different days of
camp. Lectures included information about SSB selection procedure, How
to join Indian Army, Entrance of OTA, military history and history of
OTA CHENNAI, Social etiquettes and moral values. The interaction
session with OTA women cadets made inspiration in the cadets. Cadets
got a golden chance to perform in drill at Parameswaran drill ground in OTA. TCTA in Acharya Training Area gave more exciting information
about War ground. Camp finished after the tea party with Col M Arjun
Rangan on 14th Oct.
