CLEANING CAMPAIGN

REPORT

The government of India introduced ‘Swatchata Hi Sewa’ as part of Gandhi
Jayanti. As part of this, a campaign named “Ek Ghanta Ek Tarikh” was initiated
on 1st October 2023. The theme of the campaign includes garbage free India.
On 1st October 2023, NCC cadets of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous),
Irinjalakuda took active participation in cleaning activities. Cadets cleaned the
surroundings of the college campus in connection with swachh bharat mission.
Cadets also cleaned the garden and the area around their houses as part of this
campaign. Waste was disposed in an improper manner in the water bodies near
college area. Cadets cleaned the water bodies and make it hygienic and healthy
to use. The waste materials was collected and disposed in a proper manner. On

nd October, the cadets enthusiastically cleaned the statue of Mahatma Gandhi
situated in front of The Kerala Government PWD Rest House, Irinjalakuda.
Cadets also cleaned the NCC office and college area and disposed waste in
proper way. The NCC office, college campus and its surrounding kept a clean
and healthy area. The cadets took videos and photos of the activities and
uploaded in various social media websites. This campaign helped Indian
citizens by many ways. It encourages all citizens of India to dedicate one hour
of voluntary work for cleanliness. To make a contribution, people can
participate in cleaning their own streets, neighborhood’s, public parks, lakes,
rivers, or any other public place.
