In order to commemorate the 35 years of the Vienna Convention, the Department of Chemistry, St. Joseph’s College, Irinjalakuda celebrated Ozone Day on 16th September 2020.
The Department of Chemistry, St. Joseph’s
College, Irinjalakuda celebrated the International
Ozone Day, OZO 2020, on 16th September 2020 to
create awareness about ozone layer depletion and other environmental issues.
The
United Nations (UN) celebrates September 16 as the International Day for the
Preservation of the Ozone Layer. It
commemorates the date of the signing of the Montreal Protocol (1987) on
Substances that deplete the Ozone Layer. The
Department of Chemistry, organised online elocution competition, caption
writing competition and a poster-making competition to sensitise the students
about the need to protect the ozone layer to save the mankind and the
environment.
