Papers can be submitted to VISTAS
at any time of the year. Only online submission through journal website or
email will be considered for publication. Once the article is received, the Editor-in-Chief
will screen the article for format and journal scope, originality and potential
impact. Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors further evaluate the paper and
assign reviewers for Internal and External Peer Review. If the article is not
up to the scope and/or the standard of VISTAS, the article will be returned to
the author. During the submission of research articles, corresponding author
can suggest experts in the field as external reviewers. Make sure to provide
complete address and official email ID of all the suggested reviews. Editorial
board has the rights to selected suggested experts as external reviewer or not.
The editorial board send the paper
to at least three reviewers for peer review. Time allotted for peer review
process is 6 weeks and which can be extended to 8 weeks upon request for the
external reviewer. Based on the peer review report, editor decide whether or
not to publish the article. Overall opinion and general observations of
reviewers is the key factor. External reviewers are urged to providing insight
into any deficiencies in the article along with the explanation and supporting
evidence.
VISTAS publish only original research
articles and reviews. All submitted manuscripts should be original works and
that has neither been published fully or partially elsewhere, nor is under
review elsewhere in any manner. All article will be crosschecked with
plagiarism screening software before final publication. Editor assigned for an
article ultimately decides whether to accept or reject the article. St.
Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda plays no part in this decision. The
editor will weigh all views and may call for a third opinion or ask the author
for a revised paper before making a decision.
