Career opportunities in Statistics ( Extra Curricular )

As part of 16th National Statistics day celebrations, the Post Graduate and Research Department of Mathematics organized an invited talk ‘Career opportunities in Statistics’ on 8th  July 2022 from 2.30-3.30 PM. The resource person of the day was Ms. Greeshma S., Statistical investigator, Dept. of Economics and Statistics, Thrissur.  The programme was emceed by Anna Catherin, II BSc Maths. The programme started with a silent prayer. Ms. Baby A K, Faculty, Department of Mathematics delivered the welcome note. She introduced the resource person to the participants. The talk was started with the significance of National Statistical Day and focused various career opportunities in Statistics, primarily in corporate, research, teaching, banking and government fields. She also gave guidance to those students who were interested in further studies. She introduced top Mathematical as well as Statistical Institutes in India. Around 70 students from the UG classes of Economics, Maths and BVoc Math & AI were attended the talk.  Ms. Sherin Jose T., Head, Department of Mathematics complemented the resource person for the wonderful class and honoured her with a memento. The programme ended up with the vote of thanks by Anett V. P., II BSc Maths. The class was very informative for students as well as for the faculty members.
